Lithuanian fruit picker went missing after Suckley pub session
5:31pm Tuesday 6th August 2013 in Ledbury
POLICE are appealing for help in tracing a man with a drink problem who went missing from Linley Green, near Bromyard, last week.
Lithuianian Robertas Bockus, aged 40, was working as a fruit picker at a farm in the hamlet, where he also lives.
He was last seen at the Cross Keys pub in nearby Suckley at 11pm on Thursday, (August 1). He befriended a couple, who gave him a lift, but due to confusion caused by Mr Bockus’s poor English, they dropped him only half a mile from the pub.
He has not been seen since and was reported missing the following day when he did not turn up at the farm. He is described as being white with a dark complexion, five feet seven inches tall and wearing a t-shirt and jeans.
Inspector Nick Semper, who is leading the search, said: “As each day passes and Robertas remains missing we are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.
“He does not speak good English and is not familiar with the area. He had cash on him after he was paid on Thursday and it seems he was spending some of this on a night out at the Cross Keys.
“Robertas has a drink problem and witnesses say he was intoxicated on Thursday night. If anyone has seen or met anyone matching his description, then please contact us straight away.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. Please quote reference number 454s 02/08/13.
