9:00am Saturday 31st August 2013 in Ledbury
A HOUSING association has won a national award for its efforts to keep its staff and tenants safe.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has handed Newent-based Two Rivers Housing a prestigious silver prize at its annual Health and Safety Awards.
The accident prevention charity’s award scheme is the longest-running of its kind in the UK and David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager, said Two Rivers is a worthy recipient.
“We firmly believe that organisations that demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention deserve recognition,” he said. “Two Rivers Housing has shown it is committed to striving for such continuous improvement and we are delighted to honour it through the presentation of an award.”
Andy Tootell, health and safety co-ordinator at Two Rivers, said: “We are always aiming to improve our safety record and reduce any risks to our employees and tenants.
“We are very pleased that our efforts have been recognised by RoSPA and we will continually push forward to keep safety at the forefront of our employees’ minds.”
