Saddle up for children’s cause
9:00am Sunday 1st September 2013 in Ledbury
FIT fundraisers are invited to saddle up for charity next month.
Wooden Spoon – a charity helping enrich the lives of children with cancer – has organised the Worcestershire Wheelie Fun Ride on Sunday, September 15.
The organisation has strong links with the UK rugby community and Worcester Warriors’ director of rugby Dean Ryan will be among hundreds taking the saddle for the ride, which starts at Bromyard Road, Worcester, at 9am.
Participants have the option of taking on either a 30 or 60-mile route, which will take them to Eastnor Castle before returning to Worcester to cross the finish line at New Road.
Mr Ryan said: “The work of Wooden Spoon is crucially important and dedicated to helping disadvantaged children and young people live happier, richer lives.”
“I’m looking forward to supporting the event and I hope as many Warriors fans as possible will also take to the saddle on the day to raise vital funds.”
The ride starts from Bromyard Road at about 9am and finishes at New Road. Post ride presentations and a party will be held at the Quay restuarant, Worcester, and is being hosted by Free Radio.
Presentations and a postride party hosted by Free Radio will be held at The Quay restaurant at Worcester’s South Quay.
All money raised will go towards the charity and will be used within Worcestershire. To get involved visit wheeliefunride.co.uk. Corporate teams are welcome.
