‘St Michael’ pays a visit for celebration
1:00pm Monday 14th October 2013 in Ledbury
A CONGREGATION in Ledbury were joined by an unusual worshipper for an annual celebration last month.
A large Lego manstyle model of St Michael, the Archangel, was moved from outside its normal home outside the Little Shop of Wonders on Bye Street into Ledbury Parish Church for the two-day Michaelmas Festival on Saturday and Sunday September 28 and 29.
The first day saw a performance of Wildfire! by the Malvern Christian Witness Choir telling the story of the saint, who, according to the Book of Revelation, will defeat Satan in a war in Heaven.
The following day saw the church decorated with daisies and the congregation enjoyed cakes containing ginger, a traditional Michaelmas delicacy.
