The Courtyard is inviting female performers to audition for a role in an exciting new community production of Women’s Words as part of the international festival Afrovibes.

The open workshop/audition will be held on Sunday, September 21 at The Courtyard, starting at 2.30pm. The audition is open to female performers of all ages. Women are encouraged just to turn up at The Courtyard and there is no need to prepare anything or book.

Women’s Words is a performance of a celebration of women directed by Toni Cook, using stories and words collected from women living in Herefordshire. This 15 minute show will be held before the programmed events on October 21 (Mamela) and October 22 (Skierlik) as part of the South African festival.

Toni Cook, director of Women’s Words, said: “We are calling for performers to join this community production. It is based on local stories and it would be fantastic to include some local talent. If you have acting talent and a sense of humour this might be the part for you!”

Afrovibes is a celebration of South African music, drama and dance and will be touring to 19 venues in the UK. All events for Afrovibes Festival 2014 are now on sale - to book call the box office on 01432 340555 or visit courtyard.org.uk.
