LEDBURY Poetry Festival's artistic director, Chloe Garner is urging local audiences to make the most of an intriguing "cross genre" event at the Market Theatre.

Ms Garner said: "At this time of year my role as Ledbury Poetry Festival Artistic Director means that I am immersed in programme ideas for the 2015 Festival. As well as reading lots of books, chatting to publishers and watching lots of film footage of poets performing, I try to get out and about to see new work, looking for inspiration in all art forms.

"In this spirit I have a ticket for Field Notes at Ledbury Market Theatre this coming Saturday. The organisers say the event will be a stunning music and visual arts premier, and it is happening on 25 October at 8pm."

She added: "I have been looking forward to seeing this for a long while and I think it will certainly interest Festival goers who have enjoyed cross-genre events at the Festival before.

"Using old maps of Shropshire and musical scores as starting points, outstanding composer Howard Skempton and textile artist Matthew Harris have been inspired to create brand new works for one of the highlight arts events of 2014 Just four performances are taking place in Autumn 2014."

And one of them is in Ledbury.
