A NINE-year-old girl has had her hair cut for a cancer charity after being inspired by family members.

Macey Boyle came up with the idea herself to have her hip length hair cut off for The Little Princess Trust, which provides real-hair wigs to children who have cancer.

Mum Sarah, 40, who is a nurse said: "We have had family members- older than children- who are having chemo and have had to have wigs.

"She saw about the charity and sent off for the the pack. She watched the DVD and just decided that was it."

She said Macey had been growing her hair for the last year in preparation and had it cut to just below her shoulders at Pink Hairdressing in Hereford.

Sarah, dad Garry and little brother, Ewan, five were very proud of her.

The St Francis Xavier’s RC Primary School pupil has also raised more than £200 on Just Giving for the charity in Castle Street, Hereford.
