With the festive season fast approaching, children are getting excited, shopping is never ending and wondering if there is enough food to go round, we should take time to reflect on our own lives a count our blessings, one of which is living in this beautiful town with its strong sense of tradition and community spirit.

The community in Ledbury is one of its strengths and it is at times like this, when we think of others, that our community spirit comes to the fore.

Christmastime, in particular, is a time for families and friends to get together, and I wish everyone a very happy an peaceful day, spending time together; and if you know of someone on their own, perhaps you could pop round and say hello, for those on their own Christmas can be a lonely time as well.

We look forward to 2015 with anticipation and a positive optimism: the completion of the new library, the decision on Ledbury Places grant application, the completion of the Neighbourhood and Town plans, and the result of the examination of the County’s Core Strategy, all of which will help shape the future development of Ledbury and its surrounding area. I and the Town Council will strive to ensure that your views are properly represented.

Of course, if we get it wrong, you have a chance in May to change the Council, Town and County, at the elections.

It is an honour and a privilege to be your Mayor and to represent our Town on your behalf; so my wife Carol and I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and prosperous New Year.
