SCOUTS from a group near Ross-on-Wye will all be going to Switzerland next month, thanks to a cash boost from a regional builder.
There will be 22 scouts and nine scout leaders from Walford Scout Group travelling to Kandersteg International Scout camp in Switzerland, following a donation of £1,000 from Persimmon Homes South Midlands.
Walford scout group leader, Mike Mitchell, said: “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our scouts and we wanted to make the trip to Switzerland as inclusive as possible.
"It is thanks to the generous donation from Persimmon that every member of Walford Scout Group has the opportunity to travel to the camp regardless of personal financial circumstances."
The Persimmon Community Champions initiative is a national programme where charities and groups can apply for funding up to the value of £1,000 to match money they have already raised themselves.
