IT was a packed weekend of racing at Eastnor Castle as Mud Runner Oblivion challenge added a new race concept to the line up, - coloured gunge.

The Gunge Run is a 5km fun run for all ages with a different coloured gunge pit at every kilometre.

A spokesman said: "This is the first race of its kind in the UK and firmly established itself as a favourite. The gunge is a slimy, gooey mixture which clings to participants as they are well and truly gunged at each coloured pit. A must for kids and big kids alike

"With 6,000 runners taking part in four races last weekend and 1,700 camping overnight the atmosphere was fantastic. Not one but two Junior Oblivion races took place over the weekend, as this race continues to grow in popularity. It is one of the few junior races in the UK that is chip timed and remains challenging for all ages between 5-15 year olds."

The final race to take place over the busy weekend was the Adult Mud Runner Oblivion which is a tough and challenging 10km race.

The spokesman said: "Oblivion uses the same extreme tracks that Land Rover use to test their vehicles, interspersed with some exhilarating obstacles and lots of glorious mud, earning the Mud Runner series the tagline ‘Nothing Tougher’
