CROWDS braved the Bank Holiday weather for the Hereford Rotary River Festival.

The city's rowing club hosted the day which featured Dragon Boat Racing, tug-of-war contests and a floating army of plastic ducks.

Each one of the yellow toys were sponsored in the form of raffle tickets before they were dropped from the Hunderton footbridge into the waters of the Wye below.

The ducks then floated down towards Greyfriars Bridge in a much more leisurely fashion than the Dragon Boats.

Jules Knowles was the owner of the quickest duck and collected £1,000 for picking the plastic fantastic winner.

Meanwhile Arnold Engineering scooped the business duck race prize.

Luke Conod, from the Rotary Club, said more than £5,000 was raised for local and international causes on a day that went "really well despite the overnight rain".
