TWO men with learning disabilities took on a 38-mile cycle ride to raise funds for the charity that supports them.
Simon Harris and Richard Hyde-Smith cycled from Hereford to Leominster and back again to raise more than £300 for ECHO.
The duo had heard at ECHO’s annual general meeting that the organisation needed a funding boost, so they initiated and organised the event themselves.
The pair used country roads where possible for a more scenic and safer route, and were supported by ECHO staff member Maggie Percy and trustee Blaise White on their bikes, as well as former staff member Yvie George who decorated her car and provided back-up crew.
A spokesman for ECHO said: "They have set a fine example of what can be achieved and raised much needed funds for ECHO, the charity they love.
"ECHO would love to hear from anyone who would like to undertake anything similar."
