THREE candidates are contesting an election to fill a vacancy on Ledbury Town Council.
The vacancy, on the Ledbury South ward, came about due to the resignation of former deputy mayor, Sarah Jane Widdows, which was announced with immediate effect at a council meeting at the beginning of September.
The election is not to find a new deputy mayor. That position is now held by Cllr Keith Francis, following a vote by fellow town councillors.
The three candidates contesting the single vacant Ledbury South seat are Anthony Roland Bradford, of Miller Craddock Way, who is standing as a Ledbury Independent; Phillip Howells of Kempley Brook Drive, who is standing as an Independent, and Lisa Maria Turner, of Childer Road.
The election will take place on Thursday, December 3, from 7am to 10pm, at Holy Trinity Church Parish Room, in New Street.
