A HEREFORD couple are celebrating 60 years of marriage after first meeting at a town hall dance.

Diann and Bob Taylor celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary on September 29.

They first met in Hereford at a dance in 1953, when Bob, who was originally from Barnsley in Yorkshire, was stationed at RAF Credenhill.

They married three years later at St Peter's Church in Hereford and went on to have four children, Melanie, Danita, Aliza and Gavin.

They have five grandchildren, Stacey, Vikki, Ben, Kellyanne and Tom, and a great grandson called Kai.

Bob, now 82, served with the RAF for five years before he worked at Henry Wiggins.

He was also a taxi driver for 30 years and also in charge of 12 mobile Mother's Pride shops.

Diann, now 79, first worked at Griffiths grocery shop in Widemarsh Street, then at Bulmers Cider Factory. She also worked at David Brooks soft drinks factory.

The couple from Holmer said it had been a life well lived and loved.

Diann said: "You have got to give and take and always remember to say sorry if you fall out."

Bob added: "We have lovely children. They all work hard."
