A SCHOOLBOY has won £250 worth of sporting equipment for his school by having his eye on the ball.
Tristan Collins, a pupil at Brockhampton Primary School near Bromyard, won a Spot the Cricket Ball competition run by Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care.
The prize also includes a family ticket to the NatWest T20 Blast Finals day at Edgbaston.
It was first time lucky for Tristan, aged 10, who has autism and dyspraxia and finds it hard to join in competitions.
Mum, Jenny Collins, said: "Tristan has never entered a competition before and was over the moon to have won.
"We are all thrilled for him, his two brothers and sister were so excited, and we hope this will be the confidence boost he needs to participate in more competitions and events."
The competition was run in over 160 Scrivens branches across the country, as part of a You Can’t See The Signs campaign to highlight the importance of eye checks in children.
The money will go towards a new team kit.
