Robin Thornkdyke is an enthusiastic researcher into the life and works of Brian Hatton, Hereford's most celebrated artist, and he will be giving two talks to accompany the Hatton retrospective exhibition currently on display at the Art Gallery above the recently re-opened library in Broad Street.

The first of his lectures on Tuesday, February 21 at 2pm is Hatton's Horses, a celebration of the skills of an artist who was never happier than when drawing and painting horses.

On Tuesday, March 14, at 2pm, Robin Thorndyke's second talk is entitled The Harrow and The Plough, in which he will explore Hatton's interest in the farming practices of rural Herefordshire from the turn of the century until World War One.

Both talks will take place in the Museum Resource and Learning Centre in Friar Street.

Tickets available from the museum or by emailing herefordmuseumgroup@gmail.com.

The exhibitiom closes at the end of March.
