THE mother of a four-year-old girl from Hereford who donated her hair to a county charity has said her daughter just 'loves helping people'.

Amelia-Lilly Weaver told her mum she wanted to send her long locks to the Little Princess Trust – which provides real wigs to children who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other illness – around one year ago.

This week she had her long locks cut and her hair will now be used to help make wigs for poorly girls and boys.

Her mum, Leanne Weaver, said: "She absolutely loves helping people. She had never had her hair cut and had only ever had her fringe done and it had grown out so she kept saying about it.

"I thought she might go off the idea but she kept going on about it and we just decided to have it done."

Amelia-Lilly had around nine inches cut off at Oasis Hair Studio in Putson. She also raised £150 for the charity through sponsorship.

Leanne, who also has four sons, said she thinks her daughter will one day help others as a nurse.

She added: "She loves it. She's gone round telling everyone she's had her hair cut to help little girls. I'm really proud of her."
