THE sound of music has been helping to put a smile on the faces of residents at one Hereford nursing home.
Some of those living at Coldwells House, in Holmer, have been singing together in a newly-formed choir.
And their voices were recently heard by shoppers at Hereford's Old Market, where the choir gathered to sing a number of uplifting songs.
Lisa Turvey, activities coordinator at Coldwells House, said: "We discussed it in a residents meeting which we have once a month – they absolutely love singing so we said 'let's start a choir'.
"We sing here a couple of times a week and they love it. We have noticed a difference and the family have said how much it's benefited them."
Singing has long been considered as a way of improving wellbeing and residents, aged between 70 and 100, have been reaping the rewards of taking part in the popular activity.
