A FATHER who died while on a county golf course will be remembered by family and friends next month.
Stewart Thomson died aged 57 on May 10 2015, having suffered from ischaemic and hypertension heart disease, while on the eleventh hole at Leominster Golf Club.
Mr Thomson's wife Jane and sons, Andy and Chris, described him as 'selfless' and as someone who loved sports and excelled himself at everything he did.
He was the last captain at Belmont Golf Club before it closed and later moved to Leominster Golf Club.
It is there that a fundraising competition took place in his memory last year, raising £3,300 for Midlands Air Ambulance, and where a similar event is lined up to take place next month on September 16.
There will be four players per team competing in a four-ball Stableford competition.
Entry costs £25 per person – to include a roll and coffee on arrival, a drink and a cake on course and a barbecue after. A raffle will also be held.
