THE oldest customer of a market in Ross-on-Wye cut the cake to celebrate its 70th anniversary.
Ross Country market started in October 1947 in a small shop in the town centre and it has gone through many changes since then.
Today it is held every Saturday from 9am to 12.30pm at The Venue (Youth Club) in Hill Street.
At a special market held to celebrate the anniversary, the market's oldest customer, Richard Seddon, who is 98-years-old, cut the cake and a speech was given by chairman Audrey Sealey.
There was an attendance book on display and it was discovered that one of the market's customers has been attending for 56 years.
There was nearly double the usual number of customers and many previous producers attended.
