NOT even a day of non-stop rain dampened the enthusiasm of 30 young people on a summer course at Mathon, Cradley and Storridge Tennis Club (MCS).

Tennis coaches Alex Moss and Mike Buck from Abergavenny Tennis Club introduced basic ball skills to children as young as four years old, and improved the techniques of the more experienced players.

MCS Tennis Club began life in the 1980s, set up by an enthusiastic group of players from the three villages.

Today it is thriving, with about 90 members.
