Praise for recreation ground

LEDBURY Recreation ground has been described as being an “excellent facility, providing good play value for toddlers, juniors and teens”, in a report by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.

Ledbury town councillor Rob Yeoman said: “We are obviously doing something right. There are no high priority items highlighted – just a bit of maintenance.”

The committee agreed that town clerk, Karen Mitchell, should take action to put matters right, in those cases requiring attention.

Work will include repairing slats on a bench seat, cutting off projecting bolt threads on some seats and some fences, mending a mesh fence and replacing damaged ‘no dogs’ signs.

As Coun Yeoman indicated, all the work to be carried out is considered by ROSPA to be of “low or medium risk” to children and park users.
