PERMISSION for palisade fencing and gates around a car park at Bradford Building Supplies in Ledbury looks set to be granted by Herefordshire Council.
The application will come before the council's northern area planning sub-committee for a decision on Wednesday, February 28.
Planning officer Edward Thomas is recommending approval, despite the fact that Ledbury Town Council is opposed to the plan.
The town council believes the gates and fencing would be inappropriate for a car park and that the space could then be used for storage, resulting in displacement of vehicles on to the busy Hereford Road.
However, Mr Thomas said: "It is proposed to relocate visitor parking to the front of the building, which will allow for the creation of replacement spaces. The result will be an increase in the number of available parking spaces."
