MAY I ask what Jo Ablett, a vet, is doing allowing her dog to breed when she must know of the millions of dogs in the UK desperate for homes (Gazette, July 25)?
To make things worse she appears to be offering one of the pups for auction with anybody – whether or not they actually want a dog – able to bid.
The best she can offer is "hope" that the puppy goes to a good home.
I would have thought she could at least vet (no pun intended) the prospective owner, and better still stay in contact to ensure it is a good home.
There are lots of ways to raise funds, such as an auction of inanimate objects.
Why the need to involve animals at all?
