Sir - About the recent MHDC Council Meeting; I would like to know how much the meeting cost us as taxpayers. Do the councillors not think that they are accountable to us?
I am astonished that the only way the Council members could express themselves was to walk out. Isn’t the debating chamber meant as a place to exchange ideas and come to a consensus?
These people surely claimed for their attendance and the payment, which goes with it; even if they deliberately created nothing.
Isn’t it sad that grown-ups use the infantile method of sulking when asked to confront a challenge. It was easier to duck and dive and then turn their backs than try to make an effort. How do these people think that we can take them seriously?
It’s time to get back to learning about fundamental democratic decision making. Let’s have a full debate, Let the Chairmen of meetings be told that it’s their job to moderate the debate; not turn it into a farce. Let mature minds get to work, not immature and selfish ones.
Mrs M P Taggart
