ON the evening of September 23 I was present at a meeting of Leigh and Bransford Parish Council.
David Hughes, leader of Malvern Hills District Council attended.
He gave an update on the issue of a shared chief executive for Malvern Hills and Wychavon.
I was also present at the first meeting of Malvern Hills council where this subject was first broached.
At that meeting it was put to the leadership that a shared chief executive would lead to a shared management team and this would result in redundancies and a loss of independence.
This was categorically denied by the leadership.
But at the parish council meeting David Hughes was pleased to advise that he is indeed working towards a shared management team.
Not only will David Hughes succeed in destroying Malvern and its surroundings through over-development, but he will succeed in destroying it in name by taking away its independence.
We will no longer be able to identify our place of residence as Malvern; we will all live in Wychavon.
