I WAS pleased to read your article "Town set to provide a home for Syrian refugee families" (November 7).
I have felt extremely frustrated by my inability to help the poor civilians of Syria since the civil war began, beyond making donations to charities providing relief in the region.
The fact that the UN or similar bodies have failed to secure a safe corridor for aid to civilians in Syria has limited what outsiders can do to help.
I was therefore delighted to learn that people living in Malvern are going to be able to help a dozen refugee families from Syria.
Malvern is a wonderful place to live and I am sure that the refugee families will receive as warm a welcome as I did when I moved here.
Hopefully, we will all do our bit to help the families feel at home in Malvern and give them the support they need to adjust and to recover from the trauma they will have suffered since the war began.
