I WAS scandalised by David Huffington-Smyth's scathing remarks about Malvernians (Letters, March 6).
We are very lucky with our beautiful historic town, and apart from obvious necessary changes should be preserving our history as much as possible.
There is an Act of Parliament helping us preserve our beautiful hills and common land.
We do not want lots of housing estates and touristy ideas.
We want to offer to our visitors a place where they feel they can relax and be away from the hustle and bustle of life. We want to be us.
And yes, perhaps it would be nice to have some steam engines from Worcester to Hereford.
If you want modern then I would suggest that you move away to one of the new towns!
