I AM tickled pink that Clive Smith has written a letter disparaging Fifty Shades of Grey (March 6). Councillor Smith was elected in Malvern Link as a yellow Liberal in 2011, only to defect to the Greens in 2012.
Two years later he resigned from his elected position as a Malvern Hills Conservator for Link ward to become a director of Malvern for All – ‘all’ as long as you support a cable car and pylons on our hills “coloured to minimise their visual impact”.
To cap that, he is now tying his colours to another mast by announcing he is parting company with the Greens and planning to stand as an independent in the May election.
With such a track record, many might conclude that he is well on his way towards achieving 50 shades of political hue!
