MY daughter and I had an appointment in Hereford, so we duly waited for the 8.52 train at Malvern Link.

An announcement explained that the train was currently five minutes late, then 10 minutes late, then some more minutes late.

Then a message quietly flashed up on the departure board saying that this train was now terminating at Great Malvern.

An unreliable service is a useless one.

We had to jump into our car to make our appointment.

London Midland should be required to record cancelled trains as late trains, the delay being the time taken until the next available train (in this case 50 minutes).

Perhaps the train company would then take its timetable more seriously.
