I WAS bemused by your headline on the front of last week's Gazette (Big step forward for huge housing estate, May 15).
How on earth can the powers be allowing this development at this moment in time?
Clearly, never have to travel between Malvern and the M5 at Worcester at peak times.
The roads quite simply cannot cope at the moment, and will not be able to cope even when the southern link road improvements are complete.
I have the misfortune of regularly trying to head north on the M5 and if I have to leave Malvern between 6.30am and 9am I go to the M5 via Upton and the M50.
So, yes, let's add 1,600 cars (two per household from 800 houses) into this mix, clog up the already overstretched road network and see how everyone being sat in our cars in bottlenecks helps the local economy!
As a minimum, the Carrington Bridge should be dualled, and only then should this consultation be opened.
