FOR anyone who was held up in Malvern Link with the traffic lights after 3.30pm Bank Holiday Monday, they were waiting unnecessary as the contractors responsible for unblocking the sewers had completed their job at 3pm and left site at 3.30pm on the dot.

Its 9.30am Tuesday morning and the lights are still there! Who is in charge? The County Council should fine the company responsible for wasting 1,000s of people’s time as well as costing us a lot of money, maybe not though we would end up paying twice.

P WATKINS, Worcester Road, Malvern Link.

As the divisional county councillor it realy brasses me off when I read these "shooting from the hip comments" that have no verification in fact whatsoever. I can assure Mr Watkins that the trafiic lights would not have been left there without good reason and that as soon as investigations have been completed normality will return.

To conclude it's a great shame that he failed to contact his local county councillor before firing off to the media.
