I WAS incensed by the quite insulting letter sent to you by a correspondent, John Gaskins, June 12 edition.

My knowledge of Mr Roger Allsop is that he is an astute and very successful business man who I am sure has the best interests of Ledbury at heart.

UBL is a godsend for Ledbury area, we desperately need employment opportunities. I am sure Mr Allsop knows a great deal more about employment and the business situation in Ledbury than your correspondent.

It is quite stupid to suggest that most of the jobs are not for Ledbury residents. In my 30 years in business in Ledbury I interviewed around 3,000 people and at least 90% were Ledbury based residents, if some are from over the hill does it matter. This immigrant from outer space should return there.
