Cat was left

DID someone rescue a small, black and white cat, which I saw being abandoned from a basket in the corner of the car park in Priory Road near the Splash at 5.30pm on Saturday night February 11?

On opening my car window to speak to the gentleman who had tipped the cat out of the basket, I was told, “We are not abandoning it. It is a case of mistaken identity and it’s from round here.”

One-and-a-half hours later, upon leaving the Splash following my grandson’s swimming party, I saw the same cat outside the Splash reception area, gazing hopefully into the light and warmth (it was now dark and very, very cold).

The cat had obviously crossed the main road and walked some 100 yards up to the Splash.

My grandson later saw the cat running away from the Splash.

Being an animal lover, I wish now I had rescued it and brought it home.

I can only hope it found its own house. I would be most grateful if someone were able to let me know that the little cat is safe and well.
