PUPILS at a Ledbury school washed 20 cars to raise money for the East Africa famine.
Year 6 children from Bosbury CE Primary School planned and organised the car wash and also offered a café for their parents and others in the local community.
The event raised more than £200 which will go to the East Africa Appeal.
Maggie Spence, the school's headteacher, said: "This was a really successful event raising over £200.
"The children were really sensible and organised and had even read a risk assessment to ensure safety of themselves, other children and visitors to the event.
"A big thank you to Mr Thompson, the class teacher, for supporting his class to independently organise this.
Helen Smith, a parent, said: "It was very efficiently run. All the children were happy and smiley and had a great time doing it."
Another parent Emma Chamberlain added: "The waiters and waitresses in the café were very good at their jobs and the cakes were delicious."
