Busy road faces six-month closure

ONE of the most-used roads links between Bromesberrow Heath and the Dymock Road is to be closed for up to six months, for the laying a nitrate removal pipeline between the village’s water pumping station and the River Leadon and Greenway.
The pipe in Beach Lane will be laid as an Environment Agency requirement to meet EU directives on nitrate levels in water.
The discharge into the river should be harmless to wildlife.
Work is set to start on Monday, August 11 and the road is set to be closed until March 11, or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.
A public meeting to discuss the closure and planned diversions will take place on Bromesberrow Village Hall on August 11, at 7.30pm.
Access to frontages of houses for Beach Lane residents will be maintained.
Beach Lane runs for 4.4km from the A417 Gloucester Road to the B4216 Dymock Road.
