Electricians needed for Christmas lights

9:54am Friday 25th July 2008

REGISTERED electricians are needed to help put up Ledbury’s Christmas lights.

The town council plans to hire in extra strings of lights this year, as well as using its own lights, but that could put up costs.

Last year council paid a contractor over £8000 to put up the town lights.

Acting town clerk, June McQuaid said it would be a nice gesture if local professional electricians volunteered to help, but she added: “We don’t expect it to be totally free.”

The extra lights could be put up in streets including the Southend and Bye Street.

Until now, the strings of lights have only been put up in the High Street and the Homend.

Any electrician seeking further details should phone the town council on 01531 632306.
