Urgent church work starts next week

WORK to fix a leaking roof in Ledbury Church, and some repairs to the flooring, will start next week and will cost £60,000.
The church’s architect Ian Stainburn said there had been a problem for years at the point where the chancel roof meets the roof of the nave.
The challenge will be to improve the junction of the two roofs and prevent future leaks.
The contractor will be Town and Country Construction of Ledbury and the work on both the roof and the flooring should be completed by the middle of January.
Mr Stainburn said: “It’s a bit more than routine maintenance.”
