THE eyes of the nation will be on Eastnor Castle on Friday morning when a couple from Leeds tie the knot live on air, after winning GMTV’s “Battle of the Brides” competition.
Viewers will be able to watch the ceremony as it happens, from 9am.
Castle general manager Simon Foster said: “This is fabulous for us and it is a great honour that GMTV was looking for a fairy tale castle and Eastnor was selected.
“Without a doubt this will raise our profile nationally, as well as locally.”
Caroline Clark, aged 24 and Daniel Duggan, aged 25, beat hundreds of hopefuls to win a once-in-a-lifetime dream wedding at the castle, near Ledbury.
Mr Duggan, aged 25, said he was lost for words when told of the couple’s success.
Miss Clark, aged 24, added: “Everyone’s been rallying round us and we appreciate it so much.”
If either of the happy couple feel a little faint with nerves on their big day, they’ll know what to do.
Miss Clark is a student nurse and her bridegroom is a qualified paramedic.
The talented pair won the viewer’s vote after competing against two other couples in the final last week.
They had to triumph in a series of wedding-related challenges.
For her big day, Miss Clark will wear a bespoke hand-fitted gown by the celebrity designer, Caroline Castigliano.
A recent client for an evening gown was the celebrated soprano, Lesley Garrett.
Miss Clark will also have her own entourage of celebrity stylists, including hairdresser to the stars Richard Ward and celebrity make-up artist Jemma Kidd, the Countess of Mornington.
Mr Ward’s clients include former England rugby captain Will Carling, it-girl Tara Palmer-Tomkinson and the actor Michael Sheen.
Afterwards, the newlyweds will enjoy a two-week holiday at a five-star hotel in Jamaica.
