LEDBURY Scouts will return to their club house in September to find it has been much improved during the summer break, thanks to local generosity.
The town council has provided a grant of £1,500 towards a new heating system and a Hereford firm, Howden’s Joinery, has provided a new kitchen free of charge.
Club secretary, Jackie Tweedale said: “It looks great. We no longer have a kitchen with doors hanging off, and we have lots of decent storage space and hot water.”
The scouts have also been busy fund-raising themselves.
A social evening at Hellens in June added £675 to the kitty.
Mrs Tweedale said: “We would like to publically thank everyone who has helped us in the last few months.”
