THE THIRD annual Tarrington Memorial Proms in the Lady Emily Community Hall brought together many guest artists, many of whom were friends of the late Lisa Kent Davies.
Mrs Kent Davies was a popular local music teacher who died in a car accident several years ago, and the proms take place in her memory.
The total amount raised at this year’s prom, on November 8, is still to be announced.
But the figure on each previous year has been £2,000.
The money has benefits musical education at local primary schools where Mrs Kent Davies taught, including Ashperton.
This year there were performances by Tarrington Brass, and Liz Pooley and Becky Griffiths, on two sets of clarinets.
There were solo performances by Ian Axtell, on the French horn; John Griffiths on trombone, Alex Vaughan on trumpet and Phil Wroe on the flugelhorn.
Tenor David Coulson sang an AE Housman poem that had been set to music.
Event spokesman Liz Parry said: “As promenade concert it could have been incomplete without Tarrington Brass playing Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance.
“We clapped to the music then stamped our feet and waved our Union Jacks of course!”
