PUPILS from Dymock's Ann Cam Primary School will be among the performers when the Dymock Poets and their friends are celebrated in music and words on Saturday, March, 27 at 7.30pm.
The concert, entitled Colour and Savour of Spring, will feature the children performing songs composed specially by Bob May, organist and choirmaster at St Mary’s Church, Dymock, the venue for the concert.
And St Mary’s Singers will give the premieres of four more settings of Farjeon by Mr May, called Heroes and Heroines.
St Mary’s Girls Choir, Worcester, will premiere compositions by their musical director Amanda Ballard that draw upon the work of Rupert Brooke.
There will also be readings, plus interludes for cello, performed by Ellie Pollock.
Mr May said: “It's good to see the rich literary heritage that originated from Dymock and its surrounding villages nearly one hundred years ago is alive and well today."
Tickets cost £6 at the door and may be reserved by contacting 01531 890676.
