Owzat – cider firm’s amazing cricket deal

A CIDER company from Herefordshire, which doesn’t have a team in the County Championship, has been chosen as the drinking face of English cricket.
Westons Cider has announced a partnership with the England and Wales Cricket Board for Stowford Press to become the ‘Official Cider of England Cricket’ in a sponsorship deal that will last for the next three years.
It is the biggest single marketing activity the company from the village of Much Marcle has ever taken part in.
The agreement will enable Westons to promote Stowford Press at all England’s home international matches as well as undertake a range of wider commercial activity to maximise the sponsorship. It will start this summer when England take on West Indies at Lord’s in the 1st Investec Test Match (May 17-21) and is scheduled to run until the end of the 2014 home international season.
Westons’ managing director Helen Thomas said: “We are delighted that Stowford Press has been selected.”
