Daffodil weekend

THE ever-popular Spring Fayre and Daffodil Weekend will take place in Dymock tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday.

Between 1pm and 5pm on both days the parish hall will be packed with a host of trading tables selling everything from jewellery and make-up to cards, books and cakes.

At 2.30pm each day there will be an hour-long walk, departing from Wintour’s Green outside St Mary’s Church, to see the daffodils in the surrounding fields and woods.

The village was until the 60s part of a commercial centre of daffodil growing, when the picked flowers were sent by train to the major flower markets and hospitals in London.

Light refreshments, including cream scones, will be available throughout the weekend. Call 01531 890453.THE ever-popular Spring Fayre and Daffodil Weekend will take place in Dymock tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday.
