Pupils learn how to use tablets properly to help immune system

YOUNGSTERS learned about how to boost their immune system to fight infection.

Children at Colwall Primary School learned about how to use antibiotics properly to prevent antibiotic resistance as part of work by Herefordshire Primary Care Trust.

Sue Hickman, prescribing support pharmacist with Hereford Primary Care Trust said: “I visited Colwall Primary School and explained to Class five how our bodies protect us from infection, how to prevent the spread of infection and, if we are given antibiotics, how to use them correctly.

“It is important that people realise that antibiotics do not treat viral infections and if we follow a healthy lifestyle we can help our immune system to fight infection.”

The children produced colourful and informative posters to be displayed in Colwall Surgery and Colwall Pharmacy.
