Parking rules to be enforced

PARKING restrictions could be tightened near a town school after residents’ complaints.

New rules could be introduced at Mabel’s Furlong because parents picking up and dropping pupils at nearby John Masefield High School are using it to park.

The road adjoins the entrance to the school.

Some residents have raised concerns with the town council over the level of parking in the residential road.

One idea being considered by town councillors who are making recommendations to highways officers at Worcestershire County Council, was to create a change of priority for traffic from Mabel’s Furlong in favour of the school drive.

But town councillors were concerned this might increase the speed of vehicles exiting the school drive, in the direction of the Gloucester Road.

Town councillors are now recommending there should be parking restrictions in front of the Mabel’s Furlong sub-station, and those restrictions could extend from there to all the way to the school drive junction.

I see many Ledbury residents driving their little darlings to school every morning, so I'm baffled as to why they can't/don't walk. The cars should not be allowed into Mabels Furlong during peak times Drop them off on the main road, easy solution!

Proof read or spell check Mr Marschall. It's easy to do! You leave a trail of errors behind you wherever and whatever you write. It does nothing for your public persona. By the way, does the topic of this article ever affect you? It has issues for me every day of the working week, even though I have no connections to the school.

Having a form of dyslexia doesn't help and fingers faster than thoughts isn't good either, but I take your point, though it hasn't had any adverse effect on my "public persona" so far and why should it .. unless of course there is a certain amount of discrimination out there.
In answer to your question then the article doesn't effect me directly but your response does as I have two step-daughters who attend the school (they walk BTW), but to suggest having cars stopping to drop of a large number of children on a busy main road really is asking for problems .. just my opinion for what its worth.
