Win tickets to see some of the top jazz musicians
8:00am Tuesday 12th June 2012 in News
WHEN it comes to jazz musicians, they don’t get much bigger than the Big Chris Barber Band.
The world-renowned line-up, which spends most of its time touring Europe and the USA, is back in Britain to headline this month’s International Upton Jazz Festival.
We’ve teamed up with festival organisers to offer two free weekend passes to the festival, including a camping pitch and souvenir programme.
The £180 package admits two adults and their children under 14 to all three days of the festival.
Lucky winners will join more than 15,000 jazz fans and families at the event, which features 60 concerts and a fabulous, free fringe festival.
There will be Mardi Gras-style parades through the town, led by sponsor Morgan’s famous cars. Plus there’s a vintage family fun day complete with jugglers and craft stalls, and artisan food and drink producers.
Along with legendary jazzman Chris Barber, the 2012 line-up includes British Jazz Award-winners Alan Barnes, Karen Sharp and Robert Fowler and sublime US reedsman Dan Block as well as King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys, Carl Sinclair’s Boogie Band, Fat Sam’s Band, Pete Allen and Art Themen.
The music starts at noon on Friday, June 22, and runs until 11.30pm on Sunday, June 24.
Tickets cost from £25. Under 14s go free. Visit uptonjazz.co.uk for more information or call 01684 593254.
