Holland ready for Olympics

FORMER Newent Community School pupil Vicky Holland is preparing for London 2012 with the Great Britain Olympic team.
The 26-year-old has hit form with top-seven finishes in the International Triathlon Union World Series in San Diego and Madrid.
Holland, who also attended Redmarley Primary School, said: “I’ve dreamed of going to the Olympic Games for 20 years. We have such an opportunity to do something amazing this summer and I can't wait to be part of it.”
After competing in swimming and running, Holland discovered triathlon at university in 2005, winning the London elite race in her age group and reaching the Junior World Championships.
In a superb 2010, Holland finished eighth overall in the World Championship Series.
