INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into a suspected firearms incident in Worcester yesterday afternoon.
Armed police were called to The Cross at about 4.20pm yesterday following concerns a man was in the city centre with a concealed weapon and later moved in large numbers to Rainbow Hill.
A 42-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of a firearms offence and remains in police custody.
A West Mercia Police spokesman said: "Following the firearms response to the incident in Rainbow Hill yesterday an investigation continues, although a firearm has yet to be recovered.
"The man arrested remains in custody while inquiries continue and once the matter has been dealt with he will be transferred into the custody of another police force, who want to speak to him about offences committed on their area."
