A NORTON based comedy theatre group has appealed for help in the hope of improving its productions.

A Comedy Theatre (ACT) Group was formed in 2010 by director Phillip Liptrot to give Stourbridge people chance to perform in front of a live audience.

The group has already performed several different types of shows and will soon be building up to its next production, a version of the pantomime Cinderella ,which is set to hit the stage in December.

Rehearsals will start in early September when the group will be looking to recruit anyone interested in the production side of the show.

Phillip Liptrot said: "We'd love to hear from anyone interested in lighting, sound or set building.

"We've deliberately kept our sets very minimalistic up to now and just muddled our way through.

"But now we're looking for people to get involved in the front of house side of the show in the hope they can help take us to the next level.

"At present the group involves 12 to 13 members, although we've had quite a few people pass through."

The group meets on Monday evenings at Norton Community Centre and stages its shows at Gigmill Methodist Church in Glebe Lane.
